Theory into practice - Concept

THEORY INTO PRACTICE - CONCEPT 

For my concept for theory into practice i began looking at obvious stereotypes to project into a publication. My initial idea was to focus on the stay at home wives and how alpha males dominated certain eras. I began brain storming to create ideas from my starting point.

I decided to focus on a Stepford wives theme. Stepford wives era was mainly in the 50s & 60s. I think this idea could create a strong theme for my publication. A thought for the style of the publication would perhaps it to be a cook book. The information about things stepford wives did in those times would be featured on one side and on the other would be some theory from my essay to back up my point.

I think the tone of voice would be quite playful maybe tongue and cheek i would still want it to be educational at the same time. Im also considering calling the name of my publication ' 10 Traits of the perfect house wife'.

I would like the theme to be consistent using imagery and a retro feel to the publication i will achieve this by using fitting typefaces and colour scheme.

At this point now i have a strong concept the next stage is to :

• Watch step ford wives film to take notes on characteristics and general feel for that era.

• Research into the roles of a stay at home wives

• Get contextual references from books.
