Be strict with yourself when reading try and keep it focused its important. Be efficient with yourself.

Different types of reading for different processes.

• Skim Research materials

- Initial Reading

(Review the subject write that down be aware of a range of opinions) Read with a purpose in mind. Be critical. Dont just read for information.

- Critical Analysis

• Understand what you read.

• Analysing - How do they fit together

• Synthesis Bringing together all your thoughts and ideas together.

- Note Taking

• Concentrate and makes sure you are reading actively 

• Techniques - Highlighting , Annotation , Diagrams , Analytic approach , transformative technique.

• Highlight quotes and information with notes so you remember.

-Paraphrasing 

• Using similar words

• Deleting repeated or irrelevant words

• Changing the structure of sentences

• Changing the order of sentences within a paragraph

• Using reporting verbs

• Changing word forms

My example of summarising -

''The cause of autism has also been a matter of dispute. It affects around one in a thousand children. Its usually not recognized in the first year of the child’s life, but tends to become known in the second or third year. At this time autism was often regarded as a defensive in nature of confused with childhood schizophrenia.''
