Tissue Paper Laser Cut

Using white tissue paper i wanted to print my logo onto , i decided i would try and use the laser cut to raster on top of the tissue paper. Even though i was selecting tissue paper the speed of the laser plus how close it was to the tissue paper was causing it to cut through.

 

Instead of rastering the stock and leaving a light scratchy mark it was completely cutting through.

 I next moved the laser further away from the stock using a thick piece of wood to measure its distance.

 I finally began achieving the result i wanted. I set the machine up to work as one whole job instead of individually cutting over each shape it was running over them all at once in a continious speed and direction.

The job didn't take very long and i feel like the laser cut worked better than be simply printing on the stock it gave it more of a bespoke feel.
