Type & Logo Design

Type & Logo Design

As part of the rebrand it was important  to revise and update the original cari + carl logo. As the name of the brand was two names i needed to pick the most appropriate typeface of the way they could be positioned

Original Logo -

I started to experiment with different weights and typefaces-

I tried san serif typefaces and serif
I didnt feel the serif typefaces were working so i carried to with the san serif ones. Although serif for me can represent high end they weren't working with the style of cari's brand and i needed something more contemporary. I also decided to have the lettering in the words spaced out.

Using the C's i had designed i put them together to try and create a logo.

Variations-

Altering direction and weight of the plus sign-

After altering with the plus sign i realised i had produced something a lot more structural and didn't need to have such a big logo featuring lettering.
when looking at this logo large i also realised i didn't need it to be and just decided to have the text and the small logo by itself.

Final logo -

I am really happy with the logo variation from the original it is more contemporary keeping a minimal aesthetic. Its more up to date and reflects the brand well.
