RAG & DOLL - Phone Interview

I recently got in contact with the 'Rag & Doll' Girls who are an independent clothing brand from middlesbrough. I asked to email them over some questions but after speaking to one of the girls we decided to do a phone interview as it would be easier and i would get my research quicker and more efficiently as the brand is very busy they might not have had chance to reply to my email for a while.



When were you first established?

September 2013

What aesthetics did you have in mind when designing the brand?

More of a high end brand. We wanted to a create a brand that portrayed both of our unique styles.

What social media platforms does your brand use to promote itself?

Facebook , Twitter , Instagram , Website

Which platform have you found to be the most successful and why?

Instagram more followers. We advertise through it a lot.

How do you work out your market?

We know our market through loyal customers , more personal and unique market.

How do you understand the customer and their needs?

Design for customers personally , we have loyal customers and base some of our designs on existing customers

Does the consumer inspire or influence the things you design & stock in your store? 

Sometimes  , but mainly we look at trends online and on instagram and we get inspiration from each other.

Do you think the consumer has helped make your brand more successful?

Yes the consumer has motivated us. Also we make our brand more successful by posting our designs on our personal instagrams

Do you think that the style of clothing reflects the brand?

Yes we tried to create something very on trend and it didnt work. We decided to just make things that reflect rag & doll we don't want to loose our identity.

Who is your specific target audience for the brand?

20-30

In your opinion does your brand appeal to other audiences?        

16-20 younger audience but also we stock some ranges in Kiwi boutique and we do appeal to older customers to.
          
What sets you apart from other independent brands?

We create bespoke made to order pieces & were always creating new things.
